My Goals for 2017 + Free Goal Setting Worksheet

Everyone says that writing down your goals will make you more likely to stick to them and achieve them. Publishing your goals will give you more motivation and make you feel accountable.

Since the year 2016 is coming to an end and 2017 is fast approaching, now is the perfect time to plan and write down my biggest goals that I want to carry out in 2017.

My goals for The Quiet Girl Diaries

From hobby to business:

This blog is my baby and I want my baby to grow and prosper! So, in 2017 I will
treat my blog more like a business instead of just a hobby to grow my blog. Which means that I must focus on my target audience and bring them quality content that they want to read. It also means that I will bring offers, freebies, and giveaways to encourage traffic and shares. Starting now, see below for my free printable.

Complete blog makeover:

In 2017, my blog will get a complete makeover; from SEO to branding – new colors, theme, fonts, graphic design, to a new logo if I must. I plan on spending a lot of time doing work on the back-end of my website until it is perfect.

Social Media Growth:

When I started blogging, I did not fully understand the traffic and monetizing opportunities that come with having a strong social media following. But now I do, and I will spend a lot of time growing my social.

Instagram: 744 as of 12/7/2016. Goal by the end of 2017: 3,000

Twitter: 1,049 as 12/7/2016. Goal by the end of 2017: 5,000

Facebook Page Fans: 614 as of 12/7/2016. Goal by the end of 2017: 4,000

Google +: 152 as of 12/7/2016. Goals by the end of 2017: 2,000

Pinterest: 546 as of 12/7/2016. Goal by the end of 2017: 3,000

More QGD Goals:

Continue to post at least once a week.

Complete blog business plan by the end of February 2017.

Complete Media kit by the end of January 2017.

Guest post on at least 8 other blogs, with a bigger audience than my blog, of course.

New Projects

Judith Francois Writes:

My brand new freelance writing and virtual assistance business,, is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Just like with QGD, I was nervous at first and thought I was in over my head, but once I did it, I realized that only I was holding me back.

I am extremely glad that I decided to take the plunge in late November 2016 and launched my own home-based business. For 2017, I will continue to work hard and grow my business because nothing beats being your own boss!

Blogging with Passion:

I plan on moving the Blogging Tips section of my blog to its own site because it doesn’t fit with the audience I want to attract on my lifestyle blog. Doing so will allow me a more targeted audience to share blogging tips and tricks and help aspiring and newbie bloggers succeed.

Now my only Delima is what to name my new website. Take this quick survey and help me choose.

Personal Growth Goals:

Read at least 10 books:

I was an avid reader, but lately, the number of books I read gets lower and lower every year. In 2017 I plan on changing that because reading a good book brings so much satisfaction and stimulates the imagination.

Lose 30 pounds:

I have hit the gym since the past few months, but we are in the holiday season so it hasn’t helped my weight much. However, 2017 will be the year I drop the excess weight and reach my goals.

I will write in my journal at least once a day in 2017.

These are my biggest and most important goals for 2017.

Thank you for reading, please share one of your goals for 2017 in the comments bellow.

I love your personal goals and the social media growth is definitely a goal of mine too. I think calling them goals is so much better than “resolutions” it seems to help us to reach them if we refer to them as goals.
